On November 27, 2011, in the village of Poddubnoye, formerly known as Starye Domoserdki, Archbishop Prokl of Simbirsk and Meleksy conducted the consecration of the restored Church of Archangel Michael. Until May 26, 1964, these settlements had different names: Poddubnoye, Starye Domoserdki, Cheremushki, and Novye Domoserdki.

According to the Clerical Records obtained by the rector Viktor Paveliev from the Penza State Archive, the church in the village of Starye Domoserdki, belonging to the Arkhangelsk Gorodishchensky district, was completed and consecrated in June 1842. It had two altars: a cold one in the name of Archangel Michael and a warm one for the Holy Trinity. In 1887, the district had 74 churches, one mosque, and 50 schools.

The history of the church includes a dramatic chapter about the fate of the church elder Semyon Timofeyevich Yudin. Born in 1866 in the village of Starye Domoserdki, he lived and served there until 1937, and on January 18, 1938, during the Epiphany holiday, he was executed.

The church was closed in 1938, shortly before the war began. Icons were taken to homes, and the walls of the church, it is said, had remarkable paintings and biblical frescoes. After the church's closure in 1938, the building was used for grain storage for a long time.
