The history of the church in the village of Pikhovka is closely linked to the chapel in the village of Osinovka, located two kilometers away. Archive documents indicate that in 1896, a parish dedicated to Saint Archangel Michael was opened in Osinovka. The chapel was located in the center of the village and served as a place of prayer for the residents of Osinovka and surrounding villages. It remained active until 1930, and services ceased in 1931 when a school with two classes was opened in the building. In 1933, the chapel was still listed among the church communities of the Votkinsk district.

In 1934, a house was moved from the village of Lipovka to Osinovka for the construction of a school, which became a seven-year school called the collective farm youth school (ShKM). During the period of persecution against the church, the chapel suffered, even though it was not functioning. In 1935, four bells were removed from it and distributed among the villages for use as fire gongs. Two bells remained in Osinovka, one was sent to Zakuralikha, and another to Sredny Kivara Tarakanovo.

During the Great Patriotic War, the school continued to operate. In 1952, a boarding school with a kitchen and dining room was built. After that, the chapel building was used as a club, where meetings and youth gatherings were held.

The club-chapel building was not repaired, became dilapidated, and was demolished by the decision of the village council. In the 1970s, a new club building was constructed in its place. In 1977, the village of Tarakanovo was renamed the settlement of Pikhovka. In 1984, at the initiative of the director of the Pikhovka state farm, Evgeny Makarov, and foreman Sergey Deryushev, the club building from Osinovka was moved to Pikhovka, where it was constructed during volunteer workdays. The club hosted film screenings, concerts, and other events.

In 1993, an Orthodox community was established in Pikhovka, led by priest Lev Petrov and archpriest Alexey Sekretarev, who came from Votkinsk. Services were held in various locations: the club, dining room, medical station, library, and apartments. Residents appealed to the director of the state farm, Georgy Krylov, with a request to transfer the club building for use as a prayer house, and the request was granted.

In July-August 2000, parishioners, under the guidance of priest Alexey Tatarsky, held a volunteer day and general cleaning in the church building. On August 5, 2000, the church was consecrated in honor of Saint Archangel Michael. On July 4, 2008, by the decree of Metropolitan Nikolai of Izhevsk and Udmurtia, archpriest Alexey Tatarsky was appointed rector and chairman of the Parish Council. In November 2006, the church territory was fenced, and in November 2007, a bell and cross were installed.
