In the late 19th century, Mikhail Mikhailovich Rymarev, a hereditary honorary citizen of Morshansk, proposed to build a stone church in the village of Pereezd, Atkarsky district of Saratov province, at his own expense. On December 7, 1899, provincial engineer A. N. Kleme took charge of the construction. The project was approved on February 17, 1900. The church was planned in the Byzantine style, with five domes, without a separate bell tower, which would be replaced by small towers at the corners. The capacity of the church was to be up to six hundred people, but a bell tower was still built.

Construction was completed in 1906, and on August 19, the church was consecrated in the name of the Archangel Michael. The church staff included a priest and a psalmist, who lived in church houses.

Three church schools operated in the village of Pereezd.

The church was closed in the early 1930s.

In May 1991, the church was returned to the believers and reopened for worship. The altar in the name of Saint Archangel Michael was reconsecrated in 1991 by Bishop Pimen.

On April 19, 2005, small domes were installed on the church.

In 2007, repair and restoration work began in the church. The external brickwork was restored, the roof was repaired, a new dome was installed on the central drum, and the staircases and bell tower ceilings were restored. In 2008, the repairs continued. In 2009, plastic windows were installed on the central drum of the church.
