The first church in the village of Ozerki, a wooden structure with a bell tower, was built in 1789 and dedicated to the Archangel Michael, with chapels in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God. It existed until 1846, after which it was closed due to dilapidation.

From September 22 to October 5, 1855, the Samara Spiritual Consistory considered the project for a new church at the Samara Provincial Construction and Road Commission. After the project was approved, in 1857, on a plot of 228 square fathoms with a wooden fence, thanks to the efforts of court adviser Claudia Ivanovna Lazareva, a wooden church on a stone foundation was built and consecrated in the name of Saint Michael the Archangel, designed for 800 people.

There was a cemetery by the church, enclosed by a wooden fence. In 1873, with the funds of parishioners, a warm wooden church in the name of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, accommodating 300 people, was built in the village of Ozerki.

According to archival data, priests Alexander Voznesensky, Alexy Mikhailov, and Alexander Miratorovsky were buried in the enclosure of the church in the name of Saint Michael the Archangel.

According to testimonies from locals and archival documents, a headquarters of the Social Revolutionaries was established at the church of Saint Nicholas, consisting of teachers who fought against the authorities. In 1905, the church was closed due to proclamations by the tsar's decree, and in 1926 it was dismantled and transported to the village of Starye Yermikino, where it was used to build a school from the logs. In 1934, local authorities held a meeting of the residents of Ozerki to decide on the cessation of services and the liquidation of the church. The decision was supported by the district executive committee and the Presidium of the Kuibyshev Regional Executive Committee, and in 1936 the church was closed. As part of the directives from the VKP congress to implement five-year plans for collectivization, the church building was transferred to the collective farm for use as a grain storage facility.

In 1969, during the reconstruction of the village for the subsidiary farm of the Dimitrovgrad NIAR, the church was completely dismantled, and the materials were distributed among the farm workers.

Since 1995, thanks to the efforts of Valentina Mikhailovna Lizunova and with the assistance of the general director of OAO "Ozerki" Evgeny Konstantinovich Bukarov, work began on the reconstruction of the former state farm store into a prayer house.

On March 30, 1997, the first Divine Liturgy was held after the consecration of the prayer house into the church of the Holy Archangel Michael.
