The information agency of the Yekaterinburg Diocese reports that the stone church in honor of the Archangel Michael was laid in 1862, one and a half centuries ago. Its walls have survived the revolution, the civil war, years of devastation and godlessness. The Michael-Archangel church is a unique structure built on a natural monolith. Although it was built to last for centuries, services ceased in the 1930s, and the building was used as a warehouse. A resident of the village, Maria Petrovna Sartakova, recalls how the church was destroyed: icons were burned, the bell was thrown down, and it broke the porch. In the Sysert district during the years of godlessness, about ten churches survived, including the Novoiipatovo church. The Michael-Archangel church remains the only one in the area that has not lost its domes. In 2001, the church was returned to the believers, but documents for it were not preserved in either the Chelyabinsk or Yekaterinburg dioceses, and they had to be reissued. A resident of Novoiipatovo, who is almost 90 years old, helped with the reconstruction. He shared how the services were held, where the stoves were, as his father sang in the choir. Thanks to his memories, the reconstruction plan became more concrete.

The rector of the church, Konstantin Turenkov, reported that more than thirty windows with double frames were installed, the supporting beams in the central part of the building were repaired, electricity was brought in, and a temporary altar was set up. The church is also being restored on the outside: bells have been hung, which ring out across the area. On September 27, 2006, crosses for the domes were consecrated in the church, and on the day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a gilded dome was installed on the central dome. The crosses and dome were made at the Monolith enterprise in the Chelyabinsk region. It is necessary to restore the frescoes that adorned the ceilings and walls of the building and to lay a new floor.
