The wooden church in the village of Novoberyozovka, located in the Idrinsky district, was built between 1890 and 1897 on a hill. According to legend, before the construction began, shepherds often heard the sounds of angelic services at this site.

The construction of the church was overseen by Login Iosifovich Gorbachyov. The government allocated 6 thousand rubles for its construction. Additionally, each household of the Nikolsky-Troitsky parish provided timber for the building. In 1897, after the construction was completed, part of the territory of the Nikolsky-Troitsky parish was designated as the new Novoberyozovsky Mikhailo-Arkhangelsky parish, centered in the village of Novoberyozovka, which included the village of Koldybayskaya.

The church had one altar in honor of the Archangel Michael and a wooden bell tower. The building was cold and unsuitable for winter services. There was no church fence, although books for services were available, and church utensils were lacking. The church owned a barn for storing bread and a watchman's hut, but there was no library or storeroom. The clergy consisted of a priest and a psalmist. With the funds from parishioners, two houses were purchased for them, which were transferred to the church's management. Later, a one-class church school was opened at the church, where 50 people were educated.

In 1916, an extension dedicated to Saint Nicholas was added to the church, where winter services are still held today.

In the early 1930s, despite local residents' resistance, the church was closed and used as a grain storage facility. Church utensils were distributed to parishioners for safekeeping. However, in 1946, the church was reopened, and services resumed. Church valuables were returned to the church intact. In 1997, the church was restored.

The church building is recognized as a monument of wooden architecture of regional significance.
