The history of the Church of Archangel Michael in Norsky, Yaroslavl, dates back to the 17th century. In 1637, a wooden church dedicated to the same saint was built on the site of the current stone church. However, it did not last long and was destroyed by fire. In 1748, a new church was erected on this site, but made of stone, in the style of Yaroslavl architecture. A tall tent-shaped bell tower was built on the western side. In the 19th century, Yaroslavl craftsmen painted the interior walls of the temple. During the Soviet era, it was the only functioning church in Norsky. Attempts to close it were made in the 1930s and 1960s. The church houses an ancient icon of the Kazan Mother of God, which has survived since the time of the first church, and it is believed that it was found at the site of the burned wooden church.

The temple has four altars: the central one was consecrated on August 19, 1786, in honor of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos. On the southern side is the altar dedicated to the memory of the miracle of Archangel Michael at Chone, consecrated on April 24, 1967. The left side chapel, in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, was consecrated on January 27, 1963, and the right one, in honor of the celebration of the icon of the Kazan Mother of God, was consecrated on April 24, 1967.
