The church in honor of Archangel Michael was built in 1781 in the territory of the modern Shentalinsky district of the Samara region. The construction was financed by parishioners, and the building accommodated 500 people. In 1910, the church suffered from a fire, but was soon restored according to old blueprints. In 1914, it was dismantled and moved to the village of Malo Ishutkino in the Isaklinsky district. After 1917, the church was closed, but local residents did not allow it to be destroyed, and the building was used as a grain storage facility.

In 1948, the Church of Archangel Michael was returned to the faithful, and services resumed. It was the only surviving church in the area, and parishioners from nearby villages brought icons saved from other destroyed churches and monasteries.

The temple became a pilgrimage site not only for residents of the Isaklinsky district but for the entire Samara region. People come to touch the famous shrine: the icon "Relieve My Sorrows," brought from a Greek monastery on Mount Athos in 1900, and the cross delivered from the Penza province in 1913.
