The village of Mala Tarasovka, founded in 1840 on the banks of the Kamelik River between the villages of Rakhmanovka and Bolshaya Tarasovka, was part of the Russian state. In 1861, thanks to the efforts of the parishioners, a wooden Orthodox church was built in the name of Archangel Michael. It had a bell tower and one altar, consecrated in 1863. The church staff included a priest and a psalmist, who lived in communal houses. A small library operated at the church, and in 1891, a parish school opened in the church watchman's house, where girls studied alongside boys.

In 1900, a project to expand the Michael-Archangel church was approved, led by the diocesan architect Khilinsky. The renovated church, accommodating up to 500 parishioners, was completed by 1905. By 1910, the village had 184 households with 607 men and 633 women. The peasants owned 3321 desyatinas of arable land and 556 desyatinas of non-arable land. In addition to the church and school, three windmills operated in the village. Administratively, Mala Tarasovka was part of the Rakhmanovskaya volost of the Nikolaevsky district of the Samara province.

In the summer of 1919, during the anti-Soviet uprising that engulfed the central volosts of the Nikolaevsky district, the headquarters of the Reds was located in Mala Tarasovka. On August 3, a punitive detachment commanded by Kushev fought with the rebels near Annino Verkh and, suffering defeat, retreated to Mala Tarasovka. According to data from 1926, the village had 122 households with 232 men and 308 women, and a first-stage school was operating. The church was closed and subsequently destroyed.
