The village of Koshelevo is located on the river Bolshaya Kutra. The Koshelevo parish was established around the mid-17th century. In the land registry books of 1628-1630, Koshelevo is mentioned as a village, and in the tax books of 1676, it is already referred to as a settlement. At that time, Koshelevo belonged to the boyar Mikhail Borisovich Shein and had four peasant households, two households of landless peasants, and 17 empty households.

According to the tax books of 1676, there was a church of Archangel Michael in the Koshelevo parish. The church had the house of the priest Simeon, the houses of the deacons, the sexton, and the prosphora baker. The parish also included 23 peasant households and several villages: Balueva with 15 peasant households and one landless household, Antipina with 8 households, Skolkovo with 14 households, Kamennitsy with 11 households, and Slobodishcha with 12 households. According to priest Simeon, the church land and meadows made up a quarter of all the land allocated from the boyar's possessions.

The wooden church of Archangel Michael was replaced by a stone temple in the early 19th century. The refectory was built and consecrated in 1840, and the main church in 1854. The church has two altars: the main one in honor of the Archangel Michael and in the warm chapel in honor of Saints Cosmas and Damian. The church was well supplied with utensils, vestments, icons, and liturgical books.

According to the parish staff, there was a priest and a psalmist, who received up to 450 rubles a year from various sources. Their houses were located on church land. The church owned 3 desyatinas of homestead land, 21 desyatinas of arable land, and 3.5 desyatinas of meadow land, for which there was a plan.

The parish included the village of Koshelevo and the villages of Balueva and Skolkovo, where the clerical records counted 209 households, 652 men, and 743 women. Since 1891, a zemstvo school operated in Koshelevo, where 50 students were enrolled in 1896.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the church was served by priests Andrei Kastorsky and Alexander Lebedev, as well as psalmists Ivan Kazansky and Nikolai Demidov.

According to the stories of the old-timers of the village of Koshkina, in 1956-1957, the church was dismantled, and the collective farm built a pigsty from its bricks. During a strong hurricane, the upper part of the bell tower was destroyed.
