The church was built and consecrated in 1705. The owner of the village provided for the maintenance of the church clergy by donating 15 quarters of arable land and 15 stacks of hay. This wooden church stood until 1787, when it was dismantled due to its dilapidated state. In its place, Princess Maria Andreyevna Shekhovskaya built a stone church with a bell tower and a fence. The church has two altars: in the cold temple in honor of Archangel Michael and in the warm one in honor of the Georgian icon of the Mother of God.

In 1868, parishioners arranged another altar in the warm temple in honor of the Protection of the Holy Virgin. The first two iconostases were ancient, three-tiered, and in 1858 they were updated, painted, and decorated with gilded carvings. In 1861, the walls of the temple were painted with sacred images.

Among the ancient icons, notable are local icons of the Savior, the Mother of God, and Archangel Michael in silver vestments with gilded crowns in the cold temple, as well as icons of the Savior and the Mother of God in the chapel in honor of the Georgian icon.

The church keeps copies of metric books from 1803, confession lists from 1829, and an inventory of church property. The church land includes 1 tithe of estate land, 29 tithes of arable land, and 3 tithes of meadow land. A land plan is also kept in the church. According to the clergy's staff, there is a priest and a psalmist who receive an annual income of up to 700 rubles in silver. The clergy have their own houses on church land.

Until 1792, the parish consisted of one village, but in that year, at the request of Mr. Plescheyev, Bishop Viktor of Suzdal and Vladimir annexed the village of Kirnevo and the village of Vasilyevo from the Yeltesunovo parish to Kaliteyevo. However, in 1832, at the request of Countess Zubova, Kirnevo was assigned to the parish of the village of Staro-Fetinyina. Currently, the parish includes the village and the village of Vasilyevo, which has 178 households and a population of 505 men and 533 women. There is a zemstvo school in the village.
