The village of Ivanovka was founded by the Ivanov brothers, who moved from the nearby village of Tatanovo, located near Tambov. Initially, it was called Tatanovka. The history of the first registration of the parish is unknown, but a re-registration took place on December 6, 1994.
The wooden church in the village is a two-light square structure covered with a four-pitched roof and topped with a traditional five-domed design. On the eastern side, it has a five-sided altar apse, and on the western side, a small refectory and a narthex with a bell tier. The church is clad in planks and painted sky blue. Currently, the Church of Archangel Michael is operational, serving as a spiritual center and is the main attraction of this picturesque village.
