The wooden church with two altars was built in 1790, and its main altar was dedicated to the Holy Archangel Michael. In 1935, the Michael-Archangel church was destroyed, the bells were removed, and the Demidov family cemetery was leveled. Residents had to visit churches in other villages. The Volzhanin collective farm allocated a plot in its forests, and work began. Understanding the high costs of construction, the elders decided to gather a village meeting. The idea was supported by the community, and preparatory work commenced. The Volzhanin collective farm provided a log cabin for a utility room, which later became the priest's residence. The residents of Fokino, Somovka, and Belogorka actively helped, and the building was quickly constructed. It was decided that the residents of all three settlements would finance the construction. Alexandra Artemova took on the responsibilities of the accountant. The residents actively collected money, which went into the construction fund. Soon, the idea of building a brick church emerged.

This idea belonged to Pavel Petrovich Sturov, which complicated the construction. Alexandra Artemova found it difficult to manage the finances, and at the village meeting, everyone supported Pavel Petrovich's proposal. He took on the leadership of the construction, including securing materials and developing the project. Endless trips to organizations took a lot of time, but he did not abandon his idea. According to him, significant assistance was provided by a high-ranking official of the Diocese. In just two years, such a complex structure was built, although such projects usually take many years. By the blessing of the archbishop, on November 21, 2007, on the day of the Archangel Michael, the first service was held in the new church. And on February 29, 2008, Archbishop Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas performed the rite of the great consecration of the church in honor of the Archangel Michael.
