On October 14, 2013, Bishop Ignatius of Uvarovo and Kirsanov conducted the ceremony of consecrating the cornerstone for a new church in honor of the Archangel Michael in the village of Chupovka, Gavrilovsky District. The ceremony was attended by the dean of the Gavrilovsky District, Priest Vladimir Avseenko, the rector of the Church of Cosmodamiansky in the village of Kozmodemyanovka, the rector of the Znamensky Church in the village of Osino-Gai, Archpriest Alexander Karateev, the rector of the Pokrovsky Church in the village of 2nd Gavrilovka, Priest Feodor Sudorgin, the rector of the Theophany Church in the village of 1st Peresypkino, Priest Ioann Sutormin, cleric of the Tikhvin Church in the city of Kirsanov, Priest Antoniy Lukoshin, cleric of the Cosmodamiansky Church in the city of Kirsanov, Priest Ioann Dudyshev, and Deacon Dmitriy Stepanov.

After the consecration, Dean Priest Vladimir Avseenko and the head of the district, Sergey Pavlov, laid a capsule with a commemorative certificate in the foundation of the church, which states: "In the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The foundation of this church was consecrated by His Grace Ignatius, Bishop of Uvarovo and Kirsanov, under the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, in the year from the creation of the world 7521, from the Birth according to the flesh of the Word of God on the 14th day of October 2013."

The initiator and benefactor of the church construction was Viktor Nazarov, a native of the village of Chupovka. The decision to build the church in this location was made because about a thousand Orthodox Christians living in the village and its surroundings, including the villages of Kondaourovo and Olshanka, do not have the opportunity to attend services in distant churches.

According to the project, the wooden church, designed for 150 people, is planned to be completed by 2015. By next spring, the wooden frame is to be delivered to the village, and in a year, finishing works and the installation of the iconostasis are planned to be completed.
