The church with a bell tower was built in Tomylovo in 1835 through the efforts of the residents of two villages, Tomylovo and Gubashevo. It had two altars: the Tomylovo altar, consecrated in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, and the Gubashevo altar, dedicated to Archangel Michael. A golden cross was laid in the foundation, and the building itself was painted blue and topped with two domes.

The church had three entrances, the main one adorned with beautiful gates. The fence was made of red brick with a wrought-iron grille on top and voids in the shape of crosses. The interior decoration of the temple amazed with its beauty.

The ringing of the bells from the Tomylovo bell tower spread far and wide. The bells rang on holidays, for the midday and evening services, and also warned of fires and snowstorms. The old-timers remember the bell ringer Alexei Fyodorovich Kondulukov and the priests Izbalikov and Protasov.

In 1937, the church was closed, the icons were removed, and their further fate is unknown. The crosses were taken down from the domes. Before the war, the building was used as a grain storage facility, then it became an arms depot, and later a club.

In 1955, the church was destroyed: the bells were thrown down, and the walls were demolished by tractors. In 1957, a school was built on this site, which burned down in 1984.

In 2007, the question arose about the possibility of building private houses on the site of the former church. The residents achieved a decision to build a new church on this site, receiving the blessing of Archbishop Sergey of Samara and Syzran. The church was decided to be dedicated to the Archangel Michael, as the Kazan church was already in Chapayevsk.

Funds for construction were raised by the community, with a significant contribution from the plant CJSC 'Khimsynthez'. Construction is currently ongoing, and soon the church will open its doors to parishioners.
