The Church of Archangel Michael, located in the village of Baevka, was built in 1854 with funds from local residents. This wooden building was intended for conducting services during the warm season.
The church owned 2 dessiatinas of estate land and 49 ½ dessiatinas of arable land. Nearby were the Archangel Church in the village of Telyatnikovo and the Kazan Church in the village of Baranovka. Since 1888, a one-class church school operated in the parish, and the church parish guardianship was established in 1875.
The priest lived in a public house, while the psalmist lived in a public apartment. The state salary was 141 rubles 12 kopecks per year for the priest and 47 rubles 4 kopecks for the psalmist. The priest was Mikhail Bazilevsky, and the psalmist-deacon was Ilya Arkhangelsky.
