Church of Luke in Kiselevka

Фото 1
The church in the village of Kiselevka was laid in 1893 thanks to the efforts of local landowners Ushakovs and was consecrated in 1900 in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The Ushakovs decided to build a small stone church in Kiselevka dedicated to the Kazan Icon, which the village peasants had revered before. In 1893, they received permission and the blessing of His Grace Varsonofy for the construction of the church.

Initially, the construction progressed quickly: within a year, the church was built in rough form, and the cross was installed the following summer. However, the interior finishing took five years, and only in 1899 was permission obtained from His Grace Nikandr for the consecration of the church.

From 1933 to 1935, the church was closed and turned into a grain storage facility, and later a village club was arranged inside. A stage was built in place of the altar, a booth for the projectionist was placed in the bell tower, and the building was divided into two floors. In the early 1990s, a fire occurred in the church during winter, after which a new club was built, and the church building was left abandoned. Over the years, windows and floors were lost, window openings and the bell tower were partially destroyed, but overall the building remained in decent condition.

In 2014, it was decided to restore the church with a new name in honor of Saint Luke, Archbishop of Crimea, in memory of the reunification of Crimea with Russia. By the blessing of Bishop Barishsky and Inzensky Filaret, the rector became Hieromonk Daniil Seleverstov.

On September 19, 2014, the Divine Liturgy was held for the first time in the ruined church after its closure, and restoration work began. Local residents actively participated in this effort: they dismantled the ceilings, removed the windows, and cleared away construction debris.

On September 19, 2015, the Divine Liturgy was again performed in the church in honor of the anniversary of the revival of liturgical life. In the autumn of 2015, window frames were made and installed from the old frames of the Mercy House, Soviet ceilings were dismantled and restored, and the staircase to the bell tower was rebuilt. In the winter of 2015, work ceased, except for the installation of new metal doors. Services were held in a small Prayer House next to the church.

In the spring of 2016, electrical wiring was installed, and plastering work in the altar began, which was completed by Easter. Icons and church utensils were moved from the Prayer House to the church, where an Easter moleben was held. In the summer of 2016, ceramic granite flooring was laid in the altar, solea, and pulpit, the walls were painted, and the walls of the church were partially plastered and painted, replacing the ceiling plaster with drywall.

In the autumn of 2016, a printed iconostasis made by benefactors was installed, the restoration of the ceilings inside the bell tower was completed, and a heating system with an electric boiler was installed.
