The Mamadysh city cemetery was founded in 1784. Before that, there was likely a rural parish cemetery.

On the cemetery grounds stands a five-domed stone church with a separate bell tower, built by the first guild merchant G. S. Raspopov in memory of his deceased wife, Ksenia Illarionovna, who passed away in Mamadysh and was buried in this cemetery. The church has one altar, consecrated in honor of St. Xenia.

Construction of the church began in May 1876 under the guidance of Raspopov himself. After his death in 1879, the work was continued by the guardians of his children. Initially, the construction was led by the Elabuga merchant V. A. Petrov, who died in December 1881, and was completed in 1882 by the second guardian, P. O. Mesetnikov.

The church was consecrated on September 19, 1882, at the behest of G. S. Raspopov. The consecration was conducted by the cathedral archpriest of Kazan V. P. Vishnevsky, with protodeacon P. K. Burtasovsky, assisted by the Mamadysh archpriest E. Antenorov, priest K. Ilyinsky, and a priest from the village of Krasnaya Gorka, A. Lebedev. Many people from not only Kazan but also the Vyatka province attended the ceremony. The church's iconostasis is covered in gold leaf, and the walls are adorned with paintings. A stone fence with a wooden lattice has been erected around the church. There is no permanent clergy at the church.
