In 1910, a wooden church was built in honor of the Ascension of the Lord at the "Saratov Manufactory" factory, located in the Saratov district near the village of Khmelevka. The construction of the church was initiated by the factory director Ivan Sergeyevich Fershtudt. The factory was situated 25 versts from Saratov, and the villages of Shirokiy Buerak, Belenkiy (now Belenkiy), and Formosov Buerak (now Formosovo) belonged to the parish of the Ascension Church. The church was served by the second clergy from the village of Sinenkiy in the same district. The priest received not only a salary from the treasury but also free housing and a salary from the factory.

During the Soviet era, the settlement at the "Saratov Manufactory" was renamed Krasny Textilshchik. The Ascension Church was closed, and its building was converted into a village club, with the dome removed. In the 1940s, two brick extensions were added to the club on the southern and northern sides.

The parish of the church was revived in 2011, and services are held in an adapted space. In 2012, the construction of a new church building began. On August 10, 2015, Metropolitan Longin conducted the consecration of the church in honor of St. Blessed Xenia of Petersburg. On October 31, 2019, the crosses and domes of the new church were consecrated.
