The village of Yushkovo, also known as Alchaevo, is located in the Yekaterinburg district, 110 versts south of the diocesan city. The western part of the village is situated on both sides of the Topka or Porokhovka river, while the eastern part lies on the right bank of the Sinara river. The area is steppe and lowland, with clayey soil, considered healthy from a hygienic perspective. In the early 18th century, Bashkirs lived here, as evidenced by the name Alchaevo. The name Yushkovo was derived from the first resident Vasily Yushkov, nicknamed 'The Terrible' for his tall stature and heroic strength, which allowed him to win fights against the Bashkirs. Gradually, the Russians pushed the Bashkirs south and founded the village of Yushkovo. There are no historical records of the time of its founding, but in 1781, there were 37 households in the village of Yushkovo, as indicated in the documents of the Konevskaya Nikolayevskaya church. In 1759, peasant Meletiy Yushkov received a document for owning a water mill on the Sinara river, built by his father before 1759. Therefore, the founding of Yushkovo can be attributed to the early 18th century. The parish includes, besides the village, the villages of Slobodchikova and Porokhovaya. Slobodchikova, known as 'Krasnoborskaya fortress,' existed before Yushkovo. In 1737, the Bashkirs burned the village of Slobodchikova, as recorded in the chronicles of the Dalmatov monastery. The village of Porokhovaya was named after Lake Porokhovoye and was founded in 1813 on land granted by the Yushkovo community to settlers. An independent parish in Yushkovo was established in 1848 when a wooden church was laid in honor of Saints Cosmas and Damian. The church, purchased from the village of Aramil, was completed and consecrated in 1850, but was dismantled in 1899 for the construction of a church school. The current stone church began construction in 1892 with donations, including 5,000 rubles from peasant Ivan Petrovich Alybin, and was consecrated in 1897. In the village of Porokhovaya, there is a wooden chapel in honor of St. Archangel Michael, built in 1863. The parish consists of 1,572 men and 1,625 women, all Russian and Orthodox. The main occupation of the parishioners is agriculture. The parish is served by a priest and a psalmist. Since 1888, a church school has been operating in the village.
