The ancient, partially ruined church dedicated to Cosmas and Damian is located near the village of Yanovets. The stone temple was built in the first half of the 19th century on the site of a wooden one. It is known that the villagers appealed to the diocese for a church-building charter and raised funds for its construction themselves. The architecture of the church is in the Empire style.

The central part of the temple is a classic two-story square with a massive vault, which was destroyed in the 1930s when the Soviet authorities closed the parish and transferred the building to a collective farm for use as agricultural storage. This led to serious damage to the interior finishing, the disappearance of original frescoes and paintings. A refectory adjoins the building on the west side, and a small apse on the east side. The exterior finishing of the church is simple and concise, almost without masonry decor.

Currently, the Church of Cosmas and Damian is abandoned and continues to deteriorate. Restoration work is not planned in the near future.
