In 2008, in the village of Vyachka, Kirsanov district, Bishop Theodosius consecrated the cornerstone for the construction of a church in honor of the holy unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian. Soon, construction work began. The location for the church was chosen deliberately: in the mid-19th century, there was already a church in honor of the same saints, but it was lost during the Soviet era, and residential buildings were constructed in its place. The new church was built not far from the previous site.

On January 24, 2014, the domes were consecrated and installed. They are distinguished by their unusual beauty and the shape of pyramids and volutes, which is a unique feature for Vyachka in the Uvarov diocese. On February 25, 2017, the first Divine Liturgy was held in the church of Cosmas and Damian.
