Church of Cosmas and Damian in Kozmodemyansk

Фото 1
The village of Kozmodemyanka is first mentioned in 1790, when a parish was established here. In 2004, a new wooden church was built in Kozmodemyanka, replacing the one that was destroyed during the Soviet era, which was erected in 1868. This small temple complex, constructed in the 'cup' technique from uniform calibrated logs, includes a square base topped with an onion dome on a cubic light drum. On the eastern side, an altar apse adjoins the main building, while on the western side, a small narthex rises above which is a tent-shaped bell tower. The window openings are adorned with strict trim and protected by metal grilles. Carved cornices, created by contemporary craftsmen, give the temple a special festive appearance.
