The village of Klyuchevskoye, located 160 versts southeast of Yekaterinburg, is situated on the elevated left bank of the Techa River, near the Klyuchevsky spring. Locals use the water from the spring for drinking and cooking, as it is clean and tasty. The area around the village is hilly and elevated, with rare swamps in the lowlands. The soil here is clayey on the heights and black soil in the meadows and by the banks. There are few forests, mainly birch and aspen, with no pine trees. Due to the elevation and clean water, the climate in the village is favorable.

The village of Klyuchi was founded before 1683 and got its name due to its location by the spring. The first settlers were serf peasants from the Dalmatov Monastery, who came from the Sluzhnaya sloboda or from the north of the Ural region. In 1710, during the second Bashkir uprising, the village was attacked, and 15 residents were taken captive. However, by 1711, the village had recovered and numbered 9 households.

As part of the possessions of the Dalmatov Monastery, the village of Klyuchi was included in the parish of the Nikolayevskaya church of Sluzhnaya sloboda. In the village itself, there was a chapel in honor of Saints Cosmas and Damian, where monks held services annually on July 1.

The Klyuchevsky parish became independent at the end of 1802. It includes the village of Klyuchevskoye, the village of Chigineva, and the village of Chernoyarskaya. On June 20, 1804, a stone church in honor of Saints Cosmas and Damian was laid. In 1806, an altar in honor of the Annunciation was built and consecrated that same year. The main church was consecrated in 1815.

In 1847, the church was rebuilt due to damage and for expansion. The bell tower was updated, and two altars were added to the warm church: in honor of the Annunciation and Saint Barbara, consecrated in 1849 and 1855, respectively. The reconstruction was carried out with donations from parishioners, with active participation from Priest Tikhon Uspensky, who also financed the iconostasis in the altar of Saint Barbara.

The church is in the shape of a cross and is surrounded by a stone fence with iron grilles, built in 1850 with funds from Fyodor Zhuravlev and his son Daniil from the village of Chernoyarskaya. There are two wooden houses for the clergy and two barns for storing church bread near the church.

There are three chapels in the Klyuchevsky parish. Two of them are in the village of Klyuchevskoye: one at the spring in honor of Saints Cosmas and Damian, built in 1858, and another, a stone chapel, at the cemetery in honor of All Saints, built in 1842. The third chapel is in the village of Chernoyarskaya, in honor of the Protection of the Mother of God, built in 1867.

On the feast day of Saints Cosmas and Damian, a procession is held from the church to the chapel at the spring, where water is blessed and prayers are offered. Another procession takes place to the chapel at the cemetery on the week of all saints. The village also has a zemstvo school.
