The Church of Cosmas and Damian was built in 1864 in the village of Pavlovka, Orenburg district, which was part of the Orenburg diocese and subordinate to the 3rd Pavlovsky district. Over time, the building fell into disrepair, and in 1909, the parishioners constructed a new church, which was consecrated on December 13 of the same year with the blessing of His Grace Joachim, Bishop of Orenburg and Turgai. The church was wooden, stood on a stone foundation, and had a bell tower. It contained one altar dedicated to the holy unmercenaries and miracle workers Cosmas and Damian. The church staff consisted of a priest and a psalmist. A church parish school operated at the temple, and in 1888 a church watchman's house was built, along with a stone shed for storing firewood, covered with iron, in 1909. The church was located 25 versts from the consistory and the diocesan city. The postal address was: Orenburg district, village of Pavlovka, Pavlovsk volost administration. This information was recorded by Hieromonk Valentin Korobov in the clerical records for 1914. In September 1997, the revival of the parish began, but not at the previous location. The village of Muzichya Pavlovka, where the church once stood, was relocated, and nearby, in the village of Kargala, the building of a former canteen was converted into a temple with a bell tower. The temple was consecrated on November 26, 2002, by the priestly order with the blessing of Metropolitan Valentin of Orenburg and Buzuluk, and Archpriest Leonid Antipov.
