The church in honor of Saints Cosmas and Damian in the village of Glukhovo was built in 1862 by the lumber industrialists Shurtygins. Beautiful marble tombstones of these benefactors are located near the church. In 1937, the church was closed, and in January 1938, priest Vyacheslav Svyatitsky was executed. The building was used as a club and warehouse, and it gradually fell into disrepair. In the early 2000s, the dome and central part of the church collapsed. During this time, the Kadanikov spouses visited Glukhovo and decided to restore the church. In 2004, the remnants of the old building were dismantled, and a new church was built on its foundation according to old blueprints. Its consecration took place on August 30, 2005.
