Yuryevsk, a noble village located on the banks of the Black River, is 23 versts from the district town. The village has 23 households, 42 souls according to the revision list, and 42 plots of land.

In 1810, a stone church was built here, featuring two chapels: in honor of Saint George the Great Martyr and the Kazan Mother of God. The church owns 85 desyatins of land, and the parish unites three settlements: Yuryevsk, the villages of Sverchkovo and Vypolzovo.

The village of Yuryevsk got its name from a town founded by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky. Traces of this town were still noticeable not long ago.
