There is no exact information about the time of the church's founding in the village, but it is known that it existed as early as the 16th century. This is confirmed by the fact that in 1578, in a charter regarding the ownership rights of Yanevo and other villages of the Suzdal and Vladimir districts, Yanevo is mentioned as a village.

The current church was built in 1781 through the efforts of the parishioners. It is made of stone, as is the bell tower. Inside the cold church, there is an altar in the name of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. All church documents have been preserved: copies of the metric books since 1802, confession lists since 1827, and there is also an inventory of church property. The church owns land: a homestead area of 40 by 70 fathoms, 7 desyatins of hayfields, and 33 desyatins of arable land; there is a plan for the land, but there is no land registry book.

According to the clergy's staff, there is a priest and a psalmist. The income of the clergy amounts to 185 rubles in silver from the land and up to 268 rubles in silver for services, totaling about 453 rubles in silver. The clergy's houses are located on church land and are their property. In the village of Yanevo, there are 164 households, with 501 men and 575 women. Since 1884, a zemstvo public school has been operating in the village.
