The village of Peskovskoe is located 150 versts southeast of Yekaterinburg. It got its name due to the abundance of sands on the shore of the lake where it is situated. Locally, it is referred to as "Katai Sands" to distinguish it from other Peskov villages in the Shadrinsk district.

Until 1837, when the independent Peskov parish was established, the village of Katai Sands was part of the parish of the Katai village in the Kamyshlov district. Currently, the Peskov parish includes the village of Peskovskoe and the village of Chusovskaya, located two versts away. The parish has 2,614 parishioners of both genders, all of whom are Orthodox Christians and farmers.

In the village of Peskovskoe, there is a stone church dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, with an altar in honor of Saint George the Victorious. Its construction began in 1837 with the blessing of Archbishop Arkady of Perm. The altar was consecrated in 1838, and the main church in 1851.

In addition to the church, the Peskov parish has two stone chapels: one located a verst from the village, built in 1892 in honor of the Icon of the Sorrowful Mother of God, and another in the cemetery, erected in 1899 in the name of Saint Theodosius of Chernigov.

The church owns two wooden houses on a stone foundation for the clergy and seven barns for church needs. There is also a zemstvo school operating in the village.

Currently, the church is heavily damaged, but fragments of the frescoes have survived in places.
