The Kazan Church of the Old Believers, founded in the 1840s, burned down in the 1890s and was restored in 1900 thanks to donations from benefactors, Samara diocesan missionary Dmitry Alexandrov, parish priest Vasily Lokhov, and parishioners. The construction was led by diocesan architect T. S. Khilinsky. The bell tower was built from new materials, while the church itself was constructed from the dismantled Balakovo Old Believer Nikolskaya Church, which made way for a stone building. The new wooden structure was warm and could accommodate up to 500 worshippers. In 1901, a fence was erected around the church. The only altar, dedicated to the appearance of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God "Kazan," was consecrated with a minor rite on October 22, 1900, by priest Lokhov, while the major consecration was conducted on May 2, 1901, by Bishop Tikhon of Nikolaev. The clergy consisted of a priest and a psalmist, and the parish included 138 households, 380 men, and 393 women.

By 1926, there were 677 households in Telikovka, with 1,332 men and 1,587 women. Churches and prayer houses were closed at that time.
