Фото 1
Umët is first mentioned in the land books of 1710 and later developed as a railway station. From 1853 to 1857, a wooden cold church was built in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God with the funds of parishioners, which was lost in difficult times. In 1997, the parish of the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was reestablished in the village of Umët. To conduct services, the administration of the village allocated the former building of the Lipovskaya school. From 1999 to 2003, a new stone church made of silicate bricks was built with the funds of parishioners, various organizations, and benefactors. The modern church complex, located on a high pedestal in the shape of a cross with an altar apse, refectory, and narthex, is topped with an onion dome and a cross on a decorative drum.

Currently, the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is operational and serves as a spiritual center and decoration of the district center.
