The church dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was built in 1775 with funds from landowner and state councilor Ivan Ivanovich Nechaev. In 1848, a new iconostasis was installed in the temple. The church building and bell tower are made of stone. In 1904, a stone watchman's lodge was added to them. The church has two altars: the main one in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and an additional one in honor of the Lord's Entrance into Jerusalem. The church employed one priest and one psalmist. The church owned 35 desyatinas of land, of which 1 desyatina was residential along with the churchyard, 31 desyatinas were arable, and 3 desyatinas were for haymaking. On the residential land, there were three houses for clergy, built in 1902 and belonging to the parish. There was also a cemetery at the church.

After 1917, the situation changed. The church was closed and looted, and the cemetery suffered the same fate. The parish priest, Archpriest Konstantin Znamenksy, was repressed and exiled to Siberia. After his return, he fell ill and was treated in a hospital in the village of Chernukha in the Kstovo district, where he passed away. He was buried in the old Kstovo cemetery. For more than fifty years, the church building housed the district printing house and the editorial office of the newspaper 'Mayak.' The bell tower was destroyed, and the church itself was rebuilt.

In 1994, the church was handed over to the Russian Orthodox Church, and its restoration began.
