Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Stara Nikola

Фото 1
In 1817, a large stone church with five domes was built and consecrated, thanks to the efforts of the local priest Yegor Vasilyevich Sturnitsky. The church has one altar dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The stone fence surrounding both churches completed the creation of a complex of stone buildings at the burial site.

During the Soviet era, the churches at the burial site were closed, and the vault of the warm church collapsed. The church fence disappeared. Currently, the Nikolskaya church is operational and is in satisfactory condition. The Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is a one-story building elongated in length. The northern chapel is included in the total area through arches. The altar parts and apses are separated for the main church and the chapel. The bell tower is asymmetrically located, closer to the axis of symmetry of the main part. The main entrance to the church is on the western side and is equipped with a narthex. A massive iron door of factory production has been preserved at the western entrance. The main volume of the building is in ruins, the vaults have collapsed, and the brick walls have severely weathered. The brick of the refectory is also in poor condition, although it is still covered by a simple cylindrical vault. The apses and bell tower are the best preserved.
