In 1818, a prayer house was built in the village, which lasted until 1835. In 1828, residents dissatisfied with only having a prayer house appealed to the Astrakhan Bishop Paul for the construction of a church. In 1829, permission was granted, and the construction of a wooden church began, lasting five years. In 1835, the church was completed and consecrated with the blessing of Astrakhan Bishop Vitaly, with the issuance of a church consecration certificate. All work was financed by the parishioners.

The church project was developed by Astrakhan architect Karl Depedri. According to a description from 1852, the temple was single-altar, built on a stone foundation. Its height was 24.5 m, width 16 m, and length with the porch was 33 m. In 1839, the building was painted with oil paint on the outside, and in 1844, on the inside. The roof was made of iron and also painted. The church had 12 windows without grilles, with shutters. The bell tower had three tiers and a spire, its height was 27.7 m, and it housed 7 bells.

The church was distinguished by its beauty. The entrance was through the bell tower, the floor was wooden, the pulpit had two steps, and the iconostasis consisted of three tiers. The church property and library were modest. In January 1896, the church burned down, but the antimins, sacristy, library, church utensils, donor box, icons of the lower tier, and royal gates were saved. In October of the same year, a wooden prayer house was built and consecrated in November. The consecration was attended by Elder Dosifei and Hieromonk of the Kaluga Tikhonov Monastery.

In 1906, a new stone church was built and consecrated in the name of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. According to local residents' memories, the construction was overseen by Archimandrite Dosifei Kuzmin.

According to a description from 1910, the church was made of brick, whitewashed with lime on the outside, plastered and whitened on the inside, covered with iron painted with green oil paint. The length of the church with the bell tower was 46.2 m, width 23.5 m, and height to the cornice was 8.5 m. The church was topped with one large dome and ten small ones. The building had 20 large windows, 8 smaller ones, 2 small ones in the porch, and 20 small ones in the bell tower, 6 external iron doors and 6 internal glass doors. The length of the iconostasis was 20.3 m, height 11 m. The church was not heated. The three-tiered bell tower reached a height of 27.7 m.

The church was surrounded by a church fence built in 1909, with a brick base and iron grilles on cast-iron pillars, with iron gates and six wickets. The length of the fence was 216.6 m. All elements were painted with oil paint, and the base was whitewashed.

In 1926, the church was closed and partially destroyed. In the 1970s, a large dome collapsed due to a fire.

In 2005, restoration work began, and in 2012, its second consecration took place. The main altar was arranged in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, and the side altars in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and Great Martyr Barbara.
