In 1883, the residents of the village of Sorochinsk submitted a petition for the creation of a plan to build a stone warm church with a bell tower, designed for 1200 people, in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The construction of the Kazan church took place from 1884 to 1889 under the supervision of the Diocesan architect Inozemtsev. The church was consecrated on December 20, 1892, by Bishop Guriy of Samara and became a subsidiary of the Michael Archangel church.

On March 26, 1946, Metropolitan Manuel Lemeshevsky of Chkalovsk and Buzuluk consecrated a prayer house on Chernyshevsky Street. Later, the building was extensively rebuilt: an altar, a narthex with a bell tower were added, and a dome with a cupola was installed.
