The Church of the Kazan Most Holy Theotokos was built in 1786 through the efforts of the parishioners. This stone building has three altars: the summer altar is dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the winter altar on the southern side is dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, and on the northern side, to Saint Sergius of Radonezh the Wonderworker. The parish has four schools: three district schools and one church-parish school, as well as a public reading room-library at the volost administration. The volost guardianship provides assistance to the poor of the Smenetsovo volost.
