Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Prokhorovka

Фото 1
Built in the early 18th century, the church was made of stone and had three domes, but its bell tower has not survived. The church had four altars: in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, the miracle worker, the apostles Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, and Parmenas, as well as the Prophet, Forerunner, and Baptizer of the Lord John. The icon of the Mother of God "Do not weep for me, Mother" was especially venerated. The church was closed in 1939, and during the Soviet era, it housed a warehouse.
