In 1793, the construction of a church dedicated to the appearance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was completed in Pochinki. Archpriest Fyodor Svyatozarsky, the dean of the city of Pochinki, recorded the legend of this event: "In honor of the revealed image, a wooden chapel was built on a high hill, one verst from the Zakharyevskaya church, where there is also an abundant and clean spring." The Zakharyevskaya church was located on the southwestern outskirts of Pochinki, at the site of the present Kalinin Street.

Until 1937, the church housed a miraculous icon. During the persecutions against the church, the temple was destroyed, but the icon was secretly preserved by a family in Pochinki. Visiting the spring was forbidden, and over time it was abandoned and forgotten.

On July 21, 2009, in the restoring church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the dean of the Pochinki district, Archpriest Yevgeny Utenkov, together with the local priest, held the first Divine Liturgy.
