The village of Sokulak was founded in the late 18th century, presumably in 1795, by landowner Ivan Artemyevich Sokolov. After the consecration of the Church of Christ the Savior in 1815 in the village of Spasskoye, the new village became part of this parish. Later, some peasants moved to the upper reaches of the Burunch River. This settlement was named New Sokulak, while the original was called Old Sokulak. With the increase in the population, a decision was made to build a church. The church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was consecrated in 1890 and was located on the northeast outskirts of Old Sokulak. Here, the peasants also built houses for the clergy and a parish school. In 1905, a prayer house was erected in New Sokulak, also consecrated in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, on the site of the old school. Both buildings, the church in Old Sokulak and the prayer house in New Sokulak, were destroyed in the 1930s.

At the end of 2011, the residents of New Sokulak decided to restore the Orthodox parish of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. For many years, services had not been held in Novosokulak, but the situation changed thanks to benefactor Valery Zagorin, a native of the village and a resident of Samara. With his help, the residents of Novosokulak acquired a prayer house. In early May 2012, a plot was allocated for the construction of the church. The new church, which was being built before the eyes of the residents, became the successor to the church destroyed in the late 1930s in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.

Construction began on May 26, when the cornerstone was consecrated. On October 8, 2013, on the day of the memory of St. Sergius of Radonezh, the consecration of the crosses and the installation of domes on the building church took place in the village of Novosokulak in the Saraktash district. Almost a year and a half had passed since the laying of the church, and thanks to the efforts of all the villagers, a beautiful church grew in its center.
