In the 19th century, settlers from the Tver province founded a new settlement, where the wooden church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God became the central place of spiritual and community life. Until 1917, the village thrived and was one of the most well-equipped. However, after the revolution, the church was closed, and in the 1920s, the rector, priest Nikita, was arrested. He managed to escape from prison and return to Novonikolskoe, where, hiding as a shepherd, he continued to secretly serve the faithful. After his death in the 1930s, the church was turned into a grain storage facility, and the icons were used for various needs. In the post-war period, the church building became a school, but it was soon completely destroyed in the 1950s. The Orthodox faith was preserved in the homes of elderly women, where prayers continued secretly. In 1996, P. I. Zadirov decided to build a new church. The project, developed by architect Anisiforov, was approved by Metropolitan Leonid of Orenburg and Buzuluk. The construction was completed three years later, and on December 25, 1999, the church was consecrated in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. Schema-archimandrite Georgy became the first priest of the new church. However, the community faced difficulties: the believers, accustomed to praying at home, did not immediately accept the new church. After overcoming misunderstandings, attempts began to transform the parish into a monastery, which was accompanied by frequent changes of rectors. Since 2010, the parish has been led by priest Alexander Denisov. In 2011, representatives of the children's society and folklore ensemble visited the church on the feast day, and the construction of the church rectory began. In 2012, the altar icon, which had been desecrated for over 70 years, was found, and the Bethlehem fire was delivered to the church for the first time. In 2013, the icon was restored at the Holy Andrew Monastery, and on the feast day of November 4, it returned to the church. The installation of night lighting was also completed, with the project taking third place in the "Russian Light Design 2013" competition.
