In 2007-2008, parishioners added a brick western chapel to the church, which looked like a simple wooden booth for the entrance vestibule. It is evident that due to a lack of funds, it was not possible to replicate the exquisite stone decoration of the main church, although functionally the temple gained additional space. After the construction was completed, information plaques displayed not only the name 'Kazan Church' but also the original name, 'Temple of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos.'

There is hope that this is a temporary solution, and in the future, when better opportunities arise, it will be replaced with a full-fledged chapel crafted by skilled stone masons in the magnificent Russian-Byzantine architectural style.
