Mikhailovka is a village located in the Shatkovsky district. The "Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese" from 1904 mentions a stone church built in Mikhailovka in 1825. The church had altars: the main, cold one, in honor of the Kazan Mother of God, as well as warm chapels, the right one dedicated to Archangel Michael, and the left one in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. The bell tower of this church has survived to this day.
