The village of Malaya Puza is located in the Pochinkovsky district. According to data from the "Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese" for 1904, a wooden church with altars was built in this village in 1868. The main altar was dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, and the right chapel was dedicated to Simeon the God-receiver and the prophetess Anna.
