The church in Kozokhovo was built in 1804 by the lieutenant of the Life Guards, Alexey Ivanovich Kologrivov. It is a single-domed church with two altars: the Kazan Mother of God and the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The bell tower was constructed simultaneously with the church. There was no wooden church on this site before.
The Kozokhovo church houses a local icon of the Kazan Mother of God, notable for its antiquity and magnificent craftsmanship. It is adorned with a precious cover and was donated by the previous owners of Kozokhovo, the Kologrivov family, who revered it as miraculous and considered it a family relic. In honor of this icon, the Kologrivovs erected a stone church, placing it among local shrines. There are no other locally venerated miraculous icons in the church.
