In 1849, a wooden church with a bell tower was built in the village of Koptjajevo with funds from the parishioners. The church building could accommodate up to 600 people and, along with the fence, occupied 160 square fathoms of land. The only altar in the church was consecrated in honor of the Kazan Mother of God in the same year. The church staff included a priest, a psalmist, and a deacon.

The church owned 33 desyatinas of hayfields and arable land, as well as 1400 square fathoms of homestead land.

The parish covered the following localities: the villages of Nikolaevka, Vasilievka, Korzhevka, as well as the hamlets of Voikov, Azikov, Chablo, and Vasilievki.

As of January 1, 1931, the church was listed as active.
