Kazakovo, a village in the Arzamas district, is home to the Kazan Church, recognized as a site of historical and cultural heritage. This decision was made according to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the region dated April 24, 2000. The church dates back to the period from 1873 to 1884. However, the order, numbered 5-OD, was annulled on October 20, 2014, according to the new order No. 159. According to the "Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese" for 1904, this is a stone church with three altars: the main one is dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the right one to the Resurrection of Christ, and the left one to the Great Martyr Barbara.
