In 1914, in the village of Hilkovo, thanks to the donations of merchant I.G. Kurilin, who owned the local lands at that time, the church that had burned down in 1913 was restored. Ivan Georgievich not only financed the purchase of building materials and the payment of carpenters from the diocese but also provided his workers for assistance. The height of the church was 34 meters. Mikhailov Day was the patronal feast of the parish. Priest Sosipatrov and peasant A. Seleznev organized a free dining hall for the poorest peasants at the church, which operated until June 1, 1892.

Near the church was a small cemetery, where, presumably, the brother of the writer Alexei Tolstoy, Mikhail, was buried. This is confirmed by a silver plaque found here by the village elder Eliseev S.S. with the inscription "Count Mikhail Tolstoy," which, unfortunately, was lost. The gold discovered near the former church during excavations could not be preserved either. Time has not spared this place, and from the large parish that united the surrounding villages of Aleksandrovka, Mikhailovka, Kostlivtsevo, Starye Kasly, Berezovka, and Yekaterinovka, not a trace remains. In 1929, the Mikhailo-Archangel Church was ruthlessly destroyed.
