The Church of the Kazan Mother of God is a stone parish church with three altars: the main altar is dedicated to the Kazan Mother of God, while the warm chapel houses the altars of Saint Apostle Philip and Saint Great Martyr Dmitry.

The temple was built in 1796 thanks to the efforts of the parishioners.

The church has 42 desyatinas of land. On the territory, there are three wooden houses for the priest, the psalmist, and the watchman. The church treasury has 4756 rubles in tickets. The parish includes 418 men and 476 women living in the villages mentioned in the record from March 23, 2011. The villages are located at a distance of 0.5 to 5 versts from the church. The village of Filippovo is situated on a hill, 50 versts from Yaroslavl. The postal and telegraph address is Bolshoe Selo, Uglich District. The village has a zemstvo primary school and an almshouse for peasants, which is maintained by the interest from a capital of 8214 rubles collected by the peasants of Filippovo for their liberation in 1836, with the support of the zemstvo. The clergy consists of a priest and a psalmist. As of 1908, the parish capital amounts to 4697 rubles in tickets.
