The Kazan Icon of the Mother of God at the city cemetery of Chukhloma was represented by a stone church with a bell tower, built in 1804 with funds from merchant Mikhail Iudin. The church utensils were provided by the townsman Ivan Simonovsky. The altars were dedicated to the Mother of God, the celebration of the appearance of Her Kazan icon, as well as to the holy Archangel Michael and the incorporeal Powers. Annually, on the day of the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles, a procession took place around the city. Since 1698, on the seventh week after Easter, the procession was directed from the city to the Chukhloma Abraham Monastery due to a drought that occurred that year. Also, every year on the first Sunday after July 8, a procession was held around the city in memory of the plague, although the exact date of its beginning is unknown.

The church was demolished in 1934, and only the cemetery watchman's hut remains.
