On July 9, 1998, with the blessing of Metropolitan Leontiy Bondar, work began on the construction of a new stone church at the same site and with the same name. A ceremony was held to consecrate the construction site, a cross was erected, and the first stone was laid for the foundation of the future temple. The church, like in 1920, seemed to rise from the ashes. The construction was overseen by the abbot of the Mercy Monastery, Archpriest Nikolai Stremsky, and was completed in 3 years and 3 months. The consecration of the temple took place on November 4, 2001, on the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The first Liturgy in 37 years of desolation at this holy site in the new church was conducted by the abbot, Archpriest Nikolai Stremsky, and Priest Sergey Shelomikhin, along with Deacons Sergey Kotov and Mikhail Ismailov. After the Liturgy, joyful and inspired parishioners, together with the clergy, made a procession around the church and held a thanksgiving moleben.
